Dan Boys, Creative Director, Audio Trails: "In 2006 we established Audio Trails. The concept was simple: audio tours downloaded onto MP3 players and iPods that guided visitors around heritage and countryside sites. 2010 saw the launch of our first native apps. That software continues to deliver location-aware, offline content. Our interactive visitor guides for iOS and Android offer engaging experiences that can be enhanced with options to send virtual postcards, play games and fade old photographs in and out of the camera view. Our latest software launch delivers this content across all browsers, regardless of device or Operating System. It embraces how mobile network coverage is extending its reach into remoter parts of the countryside – 3G and 4G is no longer confined to large towns and cities – and seizes on the progress web browsers have made in undertaking tasks that were once just the reserve of native apps. Welcome To web is the next generation of digital visitor guides."

Jessie Binns, National Trust: “Audio Trails have been a wonderful company to work with. I have particularly valued their emphasis on the ‘spirit of place’, adding in subtle layers of sound to help people really feel immersed in the heritage of a particular site. The attention to detail, and the commitment to quality has meant that we’ve been able to design an interpretation tool perfectly tailored to our needs and audiences.”
