Cogapp helps clients use online and interactive media for improved communication.
Within this field, Cogapp specialises in work that generates high value, long lasting and innovative results including web sites, interactive installations, mobile applications and electronic publications. Services offered include consultancy, design and production.
Founded in 1985, Cogapp is a pioneer of the digital media revolution. Many of the company’s original clients were early adopters in the museums sector. The high standards, long-term thinking and public service ethos of these museum clients has helped give Cogapp’s work a distinctive character. Now evolved over more than twenty years, this user-centered strategic approach has become increasingly sophisticated and versatile.
The company is currently working with public sector bodies, museums, broadcasters, education suppliers, publishers, online start-ups, charities, health care organisations and larger corporates.
Clients range in size from international organisations to entry level start-ups. Clients include Manchester United, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the British Museum, the BBC, HSBC, the Natural Environment Research Council, the National Portrait Gallery, the Home Office and many smaller organisations.
The company has particular expertise in strategy consulting, user-centred design, information architecture, identity and brand development, web development, graphic design, content management, e-learning, e-commerce, online collections, interactive installations, electronic publishing and open source software.
Cogapp’s vast base of experience is encapsulated in a distinctive methodology which is used to organise new projects. Projects are managed by our team of highly qualified producer/project managers.
In 2004, Cogapp started work on its most ambitious project, the incubation of an interactive communications start-up called ICONS (www.icons.org.uk). ICONS’ web presence launched in January 2006 to an unprecedented wave of publicity and participation. The project is commissioned by the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport and has a seven figure budget. ICONS is indicative of the company’s capability and ambitions.
In 2005, Cogapp acquired the business of Getfrank, a much respected digital design agency, our long term friends and some time rivals. The Getfrank business has been absorbed into Cogapp and we continue to support their clients and projects.
Cogapp employs 20 professional staff who between them share more than 180 years of industry experience. It operates nationally and internationally from a base in Brighton, England and an office in Washington DC. The company also has an extensive network of long-term associates who supply additional specialist skills as required.
