Established in 1986 Oxford Exhibition Services provides a complete range of specialist Fine Art services including project management and consultancy, transport, international freight, crating, art handling, and storage.
We have professionally developed practices and procedures, some of the most experienced specialist staff in the business and a network of reputable contacts and agents around the world.
Our clients include many of the world’s most prestigious museums, heritage institutions, commercial art galleries, corporations, private individuals and art handling agents.
We exceed government indemnity requirements and are insured through one of the world’s leading fine art insurance brokers. Our London location is an authorised customs warehouse and we have a section 5 firearms licence. We were recognised as a security approved air cargo agent by the Department for Transport in July 2004.
We enjoy a good relationship with the UK's leading museums and regional institutions. They rely on us to act as an intermediary between borrowers and lenders and to handle their affairs sympathetically.
We are a member of the Museums Association; operate to museum conservation standards and have been inspected and approved by the Museums and Galleries Commission.
Our strength is in project management and consultancy underpinned by tight processes. Our staff have an appreciation of many collections, enabling us to concentrate on the details of a move or installation with the benefit of hindsight.
Our unofficial motto is “Sui generis” and we hope that you come to agree with us that it’s an apt description of the service we offer.
We are passionate about preserving the world’s cultural heritage and are eager to make our wide range of skills and experience available to you. Nothing is too challenging for us to consider.
Recently we moved a prehistoric timber monument which had been rescued from the waves off the Norfolk coast. We were also central to the removal of dinosaur prints embedded in limestone in a working quarry and their safe installation in a small county museum.
However, you don’t have to have an ancient preservation dilemma to benefit from our ability to plan ahead and manage a project on budget to a deadline. Are you looking for a solution to pack and store artefacts during a large refurbishment? Our art handlers can provide skilled and empathetic labour and advice.
We are able to respond swiftly with innovative solutions, implementing them with care and attention to detail.
To commercial art galleries we represent value for money. That’s because we are able to offer you decades of experience learned from working with public sector museums. This experience covers project management and consultancy, transport, international freight, art handling, crating and storage.
On every occasion your works of art are handled by us, we will ensure that all necessary documentation such as customs bonds are in order for the safe and efficient transportation and storage of your collections.
We are always attentive to your needs offering one point of contact to see your project through from beginning to end.
