Issue 17 is published in March 2015 and includes a major in-depth feature exploring the transformation of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum (NYC) in to an innovative, participatory 21st-century museum. Other projects featured include the £17.5million development of the Wellcome Collection in London, the £15 million reinvention of The Whitworth Gallery in Manchester and the biggest and most ambitious gallery at the Science Museum – Information Age. Also published are a series of extensive articles looking at informal learning in museums, understanding visitors’ motivations and usage of online collections, and how museums can increase visitor participation.
