Museum Design 2015 Book: Call for Papers
Call for Papers: We are currently working on our new Museum Design book, published later this year, and are inviting additional chapters from museum professionals, architects and exhibition designers. Here are the guidelines for contributions:
Editorial: Approx 1500 - 3000 word essay. There are a number of ways to approach your chapter. You may choose to look at one particular museum project in depth, explaining the challenges you faced and how you successfully delivered the project. Or you may prefer to take a wider view of museums and discuss a number of projects and the different approaches needed in each case.
Readership: The book will be read by fellow museum professionals so please ensure your chapter is aimed as this type of readership. Readers will be looking for ideas, solutions and inspiration. Chapters are reasonably concise so it will be best to keep them lively and to the point and don’t feel the need to be overly technical or academic.
Images: Visuals are important to the book. Please supply a wide selection of high-resolution images (300dpi) as either jpg or tiff files. Images should be accompanied by separate extended captions explaining the image and any copyright credit you would like us to include next to the image.
The Museum Design book focuses on the large-scale transformations of existing museums and the development of major exhibitions and gallery spaces. The idea is to explore how innovation in all aspects of exhibition design and build are reimagining museums, creating meaningful and engaging new interpretive environments.
The deadline for contributions is Wednesday 27th May.
